Untuk bisa sampai dilokasi tersebut dari kuala simpang harus menempuh jarak 63 km atau setara dengan 2,5 jam. Untuk menikmati keindahan bukit awan ini kita harus melewati medan jalanan yang terjal, sempit, menanjak dan berkelok yang cukup menantang. Hal ini memang tak aneh karena lokasi bukit awan yang menanjak ke atas perbukitan, desa tersebut berada di atas ketinggian sekitar 600 meter di atas permukaan laut. Pesona alam indah yang bisa disaksikan di bukit awan beragam, dimulai dari pemandangan pegunungan, matahari terbit yang begitu mengagumkan dan pamandangan hamparan awan, keindahan alam kekinian dan instagramable ini membuat pengunjung lebih mengenal tempat ini sebagai bukit awan. Munculnya awan di bawah bukit pada pukul WIB, maka untuk menikmati pemandangan dengan awan yang ada di bawah bukit kita harus berada di lokasi pada pukul waktu perjalanan disuguhi pemandangan alam pepohonan hijau dan lahan pertanian masyarakat setempat. Meski menempuh perjalanan yang amat payah dan melelahkan, namun semua akan terbayar lunas setelah sampai di lokasi wisata. Pemandangan yang mempesona dan menawan, seketika itu menghilangkan lelahnya pengunjung akan pergi ke bukit awan pada malam hari. Mereka akan mendirikan tenda untuk bermalam di sana. Tak kalah cantik di malam hari pengunjung bisa menyaksikan lampu-lampu perkotaan yang tampak terlihat. Di waktu tertentu kita bisa menyaksikan kota Kuala Simpang hingga Pangkalan Berandan Sumatra pagi harinya pengunjung akan dimanjakan dengan hamparan awan dibawah bukit yang tampak seperti samudra luas. Perlu di ingat jika ingin datang mengendarai roda 4 haruslah kendaraan roda 4 yang dauble cabin, dikarnakan jalannya cukup terjal jika mobil biasa akan sulit untuk melaluinya. Tak perlu beli atau membawa tenda dari tempat jauh karna di desa Babo tepatnya di pasar tradisional Babo terdapat tempat untuk menyewa tenda dengan harga Rp. - Rp tergantung layer yang di pasilitas di sekitar wisata masih belum memadai seperti tidak ditemukannya toilet atau kamar mandi dan tempat untuk beribadah.
